What’s In My Makeup Bag

August 25, 2020

I recently cleaned out my everyday makeup bag and threw away items that either expired or I didn’t use. Once I got to the bottom of the bag I was shocked at how disgustingly dirty it was – literally black on the bottom from all the eyeliner and who knows what else lol.

So I got a new makeup bag and I absolutely love it. My previous makeup back was with me for 10+ years and going strong. I felt like it was time to retire it.

I had seen a pattern that caught my eye but it was sold out. BUT – The bag I ended up buying is still just as adorable and great!

It was a whopping $11 and looks like it is way more expensive.

So let’s get on to what I got inside my beautiful makeup bag.

Skincare

My Kiehl’s Ultra Moisturizing Cream – this stuff goes with me everywhere I go! I have attempted to venture out and try other moisturizers…I always go back to my Kiehl’s.

Tula Rose Glow & Get It Cream for undereye brightening is amazing. You can definitely feel the cooling sensation after application and it gives a nice iridescent glow to brighten your under eyes. Mama needs all the help I can get with these bags and dark circles. I apply it before my concealer and foundation but you can also apply it throughout the day over your makeup.

Makeup

Face

First and foremost, my most prized tool…the Beauty Blender. I have tried others and they do the job, but there is nothing like the OG Beauty Blender.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation is my ride or die drugstore foundation. They have so many different tones now so it makes it a lot easier to find a matching shade.

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer is the perfect bronzing shade. I love the little brush that comes inside it too!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes are all my favorites. If I don’t have the individual shade compact, I also like to buy the Limited Edition Blush Palettes to give myself a variety of colors.

Morphe Translucent Setting Powder has been a product that I have been testing out for the last couple of months. I am a big fan of the Laura Mercier setting powder but was trying to find an alternative affordable dupe. It definitely sets your face well, but it also mattifies it. If you have dry skin naturally I wouldn’t recommend it.

Dose of Colors DESI x KATY collab – unfortunately this was a limited time offer so it is no longer available. But I love the highlighters from Dose of Colors – especially when I am trying to add to my look for the day!

Concealer

Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Concealer is an amazing concealer. I would say it definitely gives Tarte ShapeTape some competition. It is on the pricier side but it is worth every single penny.

To accompany the Pat McGrath Concealer is the Undereye Blurring Powder

Tarte ShapeTape Concealer is literally the most full coverage concealer I have ever tried. One thing to be aware of is a little goes a long way so the bottle will last you a long time.

Brows

Anastasia Brow Pomade has been a staple in my routine for YEARS. I have used pencils but I just prefer the pomade because I feel like I can control how dark/light and shape I give to my brows.

I use the #7B angled brush which is an angled brush with a spooly on the other end to help with blending.

ALWAYS set your brows with Anastasia Clear Brow Gel! There is no dupe for this brow gel. I have tried others and I always go back to this specific one! Worth the hype and price!

Eyes

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara is one of my all time fav mascaras.

Tarte Maneater Palette is on my eyes EVERY SINGLE DAY! Even if I am adding a slight warm brown dimension to my eyes rather than no eyeshadow at all. I have the Volume I palette that has been discontinued but there is Volume II which is just as amazing! The only difference between the two is Vol I has a highlighter in the palette and in Vol II they replaced the highlighter with two additional eyeshadows.

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette is another go-to palette for me. It has softer tones in it that are nice for a subtle look.

Maybelline Precise Skinny Gel Pencil in “Brown” is the best for lining my upper and lower waterline. It doesn’t run and give you racoon eyes like many eyeliners. AND it is so skinny that it’s precise just as it is named LOL!

Lips

I’m not super big on lipsticks lately. But I use my Rosebud Lip Salve DAILY. Such an OG product that just works and smells AMAZING. I keep the tin in my makeup bag and use the tube when I am out and about not having to dip my finger in the salve. It is such a tried and true product for me!

That is all the products I keep in my makeup bag for quick and easy access to get my makeup done quickly and with products that I absolutely love!
