Iyla has been such a joy this month (like every month) but we have really been able to notice her personality shining through. She’s also starting to be in that super alert nosey phase where she wants to be all up in the party to scope it out. She watches Alina running, jumping and rolling all over the place so she naturally is wanting to attempt to keep up.
Daycare. . .
has been a bit rough. She doesn’t get to sleep very much while there because she’s one of the older babies so the swings, bouncers etc that she likes to use are taken by the smaller ones. It’s also super noisy in there with all the babies crying throughout the day, so definitely not an ideally quiet napping environment. When I do pick her up from the 3 days she goes, she’s usually extremely exhausted and grouchy so my heart seriously aches for her.
She’s also still not the biggest fan of bottle feeding while at daycare as well so that added to the tiredness, equals a very unhappy baby when she comes home.
On the positive side, it seems like she will sometimes develop a new skill or improve one. I suppose that’s the perks of watching the older babies moving around – instant motivation.
Sleep. . .
is still not that great. She tends to wake up throughout the night just wanting the comfort of breastfeeding. I already know once it is time to ween her from breastfeeding it may be a problem. I have tried to just give her her pacifier to help soothe her but she is just not about it so we are just gonna stick with what we have been doing I suppose haha.
Breastfeeding. . .
is usually what she prefers. She still is on/off with bottle feeding when I am away from her. I definitely don’t mind that she is still loving breastfeeding though because we are getting so close to the year mark and that D Day of weening her. Makes me a tad bit sad knowing that she is soon not always going to be needing me to help put her to sleep with breastfeeding and the bonding time will soon be ending. I am so grateful I have been able to breastfeed for 8 months already.
Food Feeding. . .
is fun, she tends to be open to trying new things. We don’t want her to be a picky eater so we have been exploring giving her different baby foods as well as little baby snacks that are easily melted. She seems to be a fan of the sweet potato puffs currently and her little pincher fingers are getting so much better at grasping. She also loves to have a taste of the different table foods we are eating which we will let her have little tastes here and there as long as it is safe for her.
I try to limit the foods that involve her to chew only because she hasn’t popped any teeth out just yet. Although, I think I did notice some coming under her little gums. She’s a little firecracker and refuses to let me check freely smh. She also likes to gnaw on her little mesh baby food sack that I put berries or bananas in which is fun.
Mobility. . .
is getting wild. She has officially started CRAWLING! She got it down about a week ago and has just been perfecting her craft ever since. This girl is going to be a serious wrecker once she gets a bit quicker at it. Right now she is still getting the feel but man she can get into some messes. She seems so tiny to be crawling around so soon but it is the cutest thing. She is also a lot more motivated to start standing up on things and I am sure she will also be wanting to walk early as well. Although it is fun, it is also going to be a challenge to ensure she stays away from all her sisters tiny toys! Lord help us hah!
She is loving to talk/babble all the time. She likes for you to have a conversation with her and then when she’s feeling really feisty, she will start to growl or scream. Gone are the quiet days in our house, we now have a little baby on the loose that loves to follow mommy and sister all over the house.
I better go catch her before she makes her way down the hall to sisters room! Until next update….
