Happy 4th of July!! These last few months have been such a time of reflection for me personally and I have been on a self-love and positivity focused journey. After my dad passed away, life was really placed into perspective for me and I have had my eyes set on living my life with a fulfillment of happiness. In order to gain happiness in all aspects of your life, you have to start from within. Learning to love yourself and change your perspective can do wonders. I wanted to share with you guys 3 things I have been doing regularly in order to continue growing as an individual and creating positivity in all aspects of my life.
READ THE BIBLE DAILY
Many of us have Bibles, but how many actually read them? One morning I woke up as I normally do and went to start the Keurig like I do every morning. While I was waiting for it to start up, I felt this NEED to read my Bible in order to start my day off on the right foot. There have been many times that I feel a cloud over me and I was so happy that Jesus was with me that morning and pulled me into reading my Bible for about 30 mins prior to getting ready. As I was driving to work, I felt an extreme sense of peace and motivation to start my day. This was such an amazing feeling, I want to make sure I do this everyday. I have dove deep into my faith and know that it is time for me to build an even closer relationship to my God and Savior. No matter what religion you are, taking the time to work on your relationship in that faith is the best feeling.
REPLACE NEGATIVITY WITH POSITIVITY
More often than I am proud of, I will catch myself thinking negatively rather than positively. Now I am not going to lie, there have been many times that I catch myself or Daniel catches me being a negative Nancy. After months of self reflection, reading my bible and other books, I have finally become aware that in order to live a full happy and positive life, we must put positivity out in order to receive it back. There are way too many negative people and occurrences in the world. Rather than adding to them, we must seek positivity and kindness.
TAKE TIME OFF TO RECHARGE
Since I am so busy with the norms of life, I have to always remind myself to take mental health days to chill myself out. I am pretty high energy all the time and when I get into an extreme routine of high energy and stress, I burn out. When I worked graveyards I was always pretty good about taking days off to catch up on sleep and sanity. Now that I work days I get into the routine of working 5 days a week and forget to take time off for myself. I have now been pretty good about taking off mental health days to recharge my batteries. This week for example, I took off an entire week to recharge, work on school and just be able to rest.
I would love to know your thoughts on this subject because there are many times that we think we live with full positivity, but not really. What do you do to keep positive?
