Hi Lovelies!
I apologize I have been MIA lately. We spent our weekend childless with no responsibilities and realized when we have no one to take care of, we starve ourselves hah! We ate roughly once a day or so (seriously horrible)!
Anywho, once Spring time approaches, I make a bold move and chop all my hair off into a long bob aka Lob. I love how beautiful long hair looks when it’s all beach waved and fabulous, but when my hair gets long, messy mom bun is my go-to. I like to believe that one of these days I will take the time to actually style and rock some long lustrous locks. BUT until then, I love getting my lobs!
My hair guru Kayla, whom is absolutely amazing, has been cutting my hair for quite a few years now. I found her, became attached and will forever follow her wherever she goes! I will be completely S.O.L if she ever moves out of state! I honestly would probably consider hopping a plane to see her for a cut and come home. You think I’m crazy, but she is THAT GOOD! She takes on the challenge of chopping my hair every year and continually sees my vision making it a reality. I highly recommend her to anyone needing a new stylist, she is fabulous! She is currently located at Canvas Hair Co. in Albuquerque, but as of March 6th she will be at Culture Club Salon located at 6804 4th St NW, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM 87107. You can also find her on IG: @kaylanicoleyhair and see some of her fabulous work!
We unfortunately (but thankfully) did not take a before picture. My hair was looking ratty and disgusting haha! So here is the magic she created:
This cut is always done with a razor, I personally like to have a choppy and wispy cut. I know some people are not too into having a razor used to cut their hair due to the possibilities of being damaging. I have been getting razor cuts for years and it does not bother me at all. I also have straight hair naturally, so all it does is slightly wave my ends when it’s in natural form. Last year, I had this cut done with a pretty dramatic A-Line (the back was super short and got longer towards the front) and it was a lot shorter all around. This time around, we kept it less dramatic, but still slightly A-lined and layers throughout. I love having layers throughout so it helps give me some extra volume and texture. No frumpy flat hair here girl!
I also asked her to give me a little bit of bangs! For the past year or so, the no bang look has been “in” and I hopped on that train, but I am happily hopping OFF of it and rocking some bangs! Yup, this girl is bangin’ now 🙂 In the past, I had bangs for YEARS and I honestly was missing them so much! So just like the rest of the cut, we kept them slightly lengthy so we can do the swoopy motion to the side and not a super bulky amount either.
Every time I get this haircut I am seriously IN LOVE with my hair! It forces me to actually comb my hair making it easy to style! *I have discovered a way for me to do a baby mom bun but I like to refrain from doing it* If any of you have considered this type of cut and fear you won’t like it – just go for it! I promise you, it is so easy to take care of and you feel fun and flirty! Hair grows back and you can at least say you tried something new and different! I would love to hear your input about long hair vs. short hair, thoughts on lobs, styling tips!
xoxo Renee
