Hi guys! So once again I was strolling my way through the beauty section at Target (pretty much a hobby of mine) and I got a glimpse of the face mask section. These Korean masks are gorgeously packaged which is the first thing you notice and one of the main reasons I purchased. I will admit that I did not try them immediately. They sat on my makeup desk begging to be used and I finally found the time to test them out for you guys.
Before opening the package, I of course read the directions which to my surprise notified me that this product is not a full sheet mask. This product contains different sizes of “petals” that you apply to the areas on your face that are “needing treatment”. Now you gotta get creative with this type of approach because I was not willing to waste a petal and I wanted to make sure my whole face received some of the product. I created my own full face sheet by putting all the petals anywhere they would fit on my face to distribute the product. I think the idea of this is very clever and cute, but it is definitely not ideal. Instructions advise to keep on your face for 15-20 minutes – throughout this time frame, I had to continually make sure my petals were not falling off my face.
Of course when I came out of the bathroom looking like this, Daniel could not help but laugh haha – he is definitely not surprised AT ALL by the things I test out! I honestly don’t know which looks worse, petals looking like pieces of meat all over my face or looking like jeepers creepers with a full sheet mask.
I didn’t properly keep an exact timer, but it felt like after roughly 15 minutes, the petals were drying up. After removing the mask, I patted the excess product into my skin rather than rubbing – always make sure to prevent the early onset of wrinkles with that technique. Immediately after patting the product, I was left with a sticky residue on both my hands and face. I figured maybe this would “dry” and leave soft supple skin like the packaging claims, but my face stayed with a sticky residue.
The verdict: I don’t think I will be repurchasing this product again. The sticky feeling that remained on my face made me feel the need to rewash which defeats the purpose of the product. This is probably one of the first times I have experienced something like this with a face mask. The one and only thing I liked about this mask was the packaging, which makes me extremely sad because I had high hopes. I will also be reviewing the Watermelon Mask by the same brand. I already have bad feelings about it, but I will still try it to review with hopefully a different experience.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my review!
