Favorite Hair Tips + Tricks For Long Hair

Favorite Hair Tips + Tricks For Long Hair

Hi Guys! So I am switching up Friday Loves this Friday and bringing you a collection of my favorite hair tips + tricks I use to help take care of Alina's hair. She has super long hair and it gets pretty crazy sometimes. I pick her up from daycare and she will have food, paint, dirt, anything and everything stuck in her hair. She also has bangs so we have to make sure to keep those trimmed regularly so she isn't walking around looking like Sia (but it happens sometimes if I can't get her into the salon quick enough).

Part of her hair care routine is she showers at night like I told you guys about in my previous post. If you haven't read it yet, check it out here. I try to prevent using any heated products on both of our hair, but mainly hers. So I do not blow dry or curl her hair (only for special occasions). With that being said, I make sure to braid her hair before she goes to bed. Being that her hair is so long, if I leave it down and wet while she is sleeping, she wakes up with a ton of uneven bumpiness all over head and it gets super duper tangled. (She is a crazy sleeper!) Combing out tangles in long hair on a toddler is not the business because all I hear is "owww you pulled my hair". This helps bypass that completely.

I also recently purchased a Wet Brush at Target the other day for $10! It's the square paddle brush and has worked wonders for me! What I love is that the bristle are super flexible so it prevents any yanking, pulling or breaking of hair. This brush takes tangles out of her hair no problem. If you do not own one of these brushes, you need to go to Target, Walmart, or wherever you can to get one.

Lastly, as many of you are noticing, scrunchies are BACK! When I was buying the Wet Brush, I saw a bunch of scrunchies and of course needed to get some. I love that the fabric helps prevent any creasing in your hair and it's not extremely tight on your noggin. I also love that it prevents any harsh breakage on her hair. When Alina was a baby I used to use the little elastic hair ties to comb her hair all crazy and Pinterest worthy, but in the long run it damaged her hair because it caused a lot of breakage when we would take out the elastics.

I have been super conscious of taking care of her hair and keeping it healthy. Let me know if you guys have any other tips + tricks for kiddo hair care. Be sure to keep an eye on the blog for regular posting! Let me know if you guys have any suggestions on future blog posts!

xoxo Renee Michelle
